Al-Anon
NonprofitThe Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems. We believe alcoholism is a family illness and that changed attitudes can aid recovery. Al-Anon is not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity, organization, or institution; does not engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any cause. There are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting through its own voluntary contributions. Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics, and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic. Meetings are held every Thursday from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Hospice of the Calumet Area
NonprofitEach year, thousands of teenagers experience the death of someone they love. When a parent, sibling, friend or relative dies, teens feel the overwhelming loss of someone who helped shape their self-identities. These feelings about death become a part of their lives forever. At Healing Hearts for Teens, we provide support while allowing the young person a chance to learn about both the joy and pain that comes from caring deeply for others. Sarah Ticich leads this series of six sessions that address the special needs and relationships of the grieving teen. The sessions are held at the Hospice of the Calumet Area office, 600 Superior Ave., Munster, Indiana. Please contact our office at 219.922.2732 or reach out to our Bereavement Facilitator Sarah Ticich at sticich@hospicecalumet.org if you would like additional information or need help. *Also available for kids 6-12
